Stir-fry Series (3) : Beef and Broccoli

With two ingredients - beef + broccoli, you get another delicious stir-fry. Marinate the beef beforehand (making it nice and tender), and you can cook the recipe in less than 10 minutes!


Recipe

Ingredients

  • 100g of beef (flank, sirloin cuts are good)

  • 200g of broccoli

  • 1 clove of garlic

  • Dried shallots (for garnish)

Beef marinade

  • 1 teaspoon of oyster sauce

  • 1 teaspoon of light soy-sauce

  • A pinch of salt

  • A pinch of white pepper

  • 1/2 teaspoon of sesame oil

  • 1 teaspoon of corn starch

  • A little drizzle of water (mix it into the marinade for the beef slices to absorb the moisture)

Seasonings

  • 1/2 teaspoon of oyster sauce

  • 1/2 teaspoon of soy-sauce

  • A pinch of white pepper

Instructions

  1. Marinate beef. Slice beef into thin strips. In a bowl, mix beef and beef marinade. Set aside in the fridge (at least 10-15 minutes)

  2. Prepare remaining ingredients. Slice broccoli into edible sizes. Mince or slice garlic.

  3. Heat up pan and drizzle some oil. Stir-fry marinaded beef (1-2 minutes on each side). Add garlic and broccoli. Add seasonings. Stir-fry for a few minutes. Remove from pan..

  4. Serve with a hot bowl of rice, garnish with dried shallots.
